Colonel Dane Powell

    • Colonel Dane Powell's details

    Colonel Dane Powell is a Master Army Aviator. He has amassed over 4,000 flying hours of flying time, most of which is in the UH-60, Blackhawk helicopter. Col. Powell currently serves as the Commander of the 185th Theater Aviation Brigade and he also serves as the Director of Aviation, Mississippi Army National Guard. He is a veteran combat pilot flying in Operation Iraqi Freedom II during all of 2004 in the CENTCOM AOR. He has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and several Air Medals. Col. Powell is originally from Long Beach, Mississippi and completed his undergraduate degree at Southern Mississippi University and he was awarded his advanced degree from William Carey College.
